WPA Education Curriculum

The Water Polo Australia education curriculum outlines the target market, minimum age, prerequisites and course overviews for each accreditation or certificate course as part of WPA’s national education program.

Awards and Course Pre-Requisites

Prior to undertaking any accreditation course there are a number of pre-requisite awards that are necessary to be completed. These awards must be completed and uploaded to your MemberPool profile via your State Association (see below) to validate any accreditation certificate;

For individuals who receive a State specific exemption; you are still required to complete the submission process but include the rationale for exemption (e.g. under 18 / expiry date is date turns 18)

Fast Tracking

As of 1 July 2019, eligible members will be able to apply for Fast Tracking to their desired accreditaion. For details on the Fast Tracking process, eligibility and required evidence - see the Fast Tracking FACT SHEET

All applications for Fast Tracking must be submitted via the WPA ONLINE FORM (after reviewing the fact sheet information). Applying for Fast Tracking is charged at an additional non-refundable application fee of $60.00, in addition to the full course fee is approved.   

Recognition of Prior Training 

From September 2018 to January 2019, WPA facilitated a process to transition individuals with old accreditations and experience into the new framework.

As of February 2019, this opportunity has concluded and is no longer avaliable. Those who were granted recognition had until 30 June 2019 to enrol in a course to capitalise on the offer. For those who did not apply during the application period, or do not complete their enrolment requirements prior to 30 June 2019, you will be required to work through the course requirements from the beginning, regardless of past experience, or may re-apply for Fast Tracking.
