ATHLETE BIO

Since stepping up to the senior national team in 2010, Gofers has become an important player in the Aussie Stingers squad, using her time with the ball effectively and proving a valuable source of knowledge for her teammates.

Attending her first Olympic Games in Rio, Gofers showcased a mix of skill and power throughout the tournament which saw the Australian’s finish in sixth place.

As one of the Sydney University Lions club leaders, Gofers was inspirational in helping her team aim for three straight national league titles in 2018, however the Lions had to settle with second position after a narrow defeat.

In her family, Gofers isn't the only national sporting talent. Her sister Taniele, competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics winning a bronze medal and has also has represented Australia in European handball. Another sister, Allira, plays European handball and beach handball for Australia.

In 2023, Keesja welcomed her first child Teleri into the world, with husband Scott.
