Changes to WPA Membership structure

Published Fri 13 Aug 2021

With the 2021/22 water polo season on the horizon, Water Polo Australia (WPA) in collaboration with the State Associations has made some changes to the structure of the membership system.

In order to improve activity offerings and access to learning and development, capitation fees have also been adjusted.

By doing so, WPA can increase the value offered to members, and affiliated clubs and associations, through new programs such as Member Rewards Schemes, and ClubPool, Water Polo’s new community club and volunteer support resources.

WPA wanted to simplify the registration models/fees for consistency and ease of use, as well as making access to learning and development more affordable to help grow the capacity and capability of the sport, as outlined in the National Strategic Framework 2020 - 2030.

WPA has also waived the national membership fees associated with entry level programs, such as Flippball and school based competitions, to incentivse the engagement of new participants.
