ORD MINNETT TEST MATCH SERIES I NATIONAL SQUADS SELECTED FOR BRISBANE

With less than 205 days to go until the Paris Olympic Games, Water Polo Australia (WPA) is excited  to announce the Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers squads for the Ord Minnett Test Match Series that will be held as part of the 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) in Brisbane.

The Ord Minnett Test Match Series will be held on 8, 10 and 12 of January at Brisbane Aquatic Centre, with the Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks to play Japan and the Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers to play in a Green v Gold World Championships selection trial. The World Aquatics Championships will be the first big milestone in the Olympic year for the Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers and Aussie Sharks that will be held in Doha from 2-18 February 2024. 

Water Polo Australia CEO Tim Welsford said: “2024 is going to be a massive year for our Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Stingers, starting in Brisbane at the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

“The January Test Match Series is one that I know our players look forward to each year, for a chance to engage with and inspire the next generation who are in town for the AYWPC.

“We are thrilled that both squads can join us, as preparations for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships and Paris Olympic Games intensify,” he said.

• Dates: Monday 8 January, Wednesday 10 January, Friday 12 January 2024

• Time: 7pm AEST and 8:30pm AEST
