NINE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2024 AUSTRALIAN YOUTH WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will make a stunning return to Brisbane tomorrow, with more than 210 teams from around Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America set to take part in the annual water polo festival.

In partnership with Tourism & Events Queensland, Brisbane Economic Development Agency, Ord Minnett and KAP7, the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will be held from 5 to 16 January 2024.

The event will be held across seven venues including Brisbane Aquatic Centre (Sleeman Sports Centre), The Valley Pool, Somerville House, Musgrave Swim Park, Yeronga Swim Park, St Rita’s College and All Hallows School.

The AYWPC will also feature an international test match series between Australia (men and women) and Japan (men). With Paris 2024 fast approaching, the teams will compete over three nights as they make their final preparations for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships.

When is the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships being held?

The 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will take place from 5-16 January 2024.

Week 1 | 6-10 January 2024: 18&U and 14&U age groups

Week 2 | 12-16 January 2024: 16&U and 12&U age groups


Where is the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships being held?

The 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships is being held in Brisbane, Queensland. There will be pools across seven venues: Brisbane Aquatic Centre (Sleeman Sports Centre), The Valley Pool, Somerville House, Musgrave Swim Park, Yeronga Park Memorial Swimming Pool, St Rita’s College and All Hallows School.

How can I watch?

The 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will be live streamed via Kommunity TV.

Can I come along?

To receive free entry into venues hosting the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships games, spectators must register HERE. If spectators DO NOT register with Water Polo Australia, they may be asked to PAY an entry fee upon entry to each venue.

Will the Australian water polo teams be in Brisbane?

The Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Stingers will also be in Brisbane during the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships for the Ord Minnett Test Match Series.

The Stingers will play three Gold vs Green games that will double as World Championships Selection Trials, while the Sharks will play Japan as they make their final preparations for the 2024 World Championships.

Games will take place on the 8th, 10th and 12th of January.

NOTE: Participants in the 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will need to purchase tickets to attend the Ord Minnett Test Match Series.


Can I watch the Ord Minnett Test Match Series if I'm not in Brisbane?

Fox Sports is the official broadcast partner of the 2024 Ord Minnett Test Match Series and the games will be available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel.

On 8, 10 and 12 January, the six test matches will be broadcast from 7pm AEST/8pm AEDT across Fox Sports and Kayo Sports. CLICK HERE to watch.
