AUSSIE SHARKS AND AUSSIE STINGERS SQUADS ANNOUNCED FOR TRI NATIONS WATER POLO TEST MATCH SERIES

Published Mon 19 Dec 2022

Water Polo Australia (WPA) is pleased to announce the Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers squads for the Tri Nations Water Polo Test Match Series as part of the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships in January 2023.

The Tri Nations Water Polo Test Match Series will be held on 11, 13 and 15 of January at HBF Stadium in Perth, with the Aussie Sharks to play Japan and the Aussie Stingers to take on reigning Olympic champions the USA.

WPA General Manager - Performance Charles Turner offered his congratulations to those athletes selected.

“The Tri Nations Test Match Series will be a wonderful opportunity for our Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers to play in front of a home crowd, the first chance since 2020,” Turner said.

“It will also offer some of our younger players who have been selected in the squad to get their first senior representative opportunity.

“The USA women’s team and Japanese men’s team will be a formidable opposition, and our national teams are looking forward to the challenge as they continue to build towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” he said.

The Australian Youth Water Polo Championships will be held in Perth, WA from 9-19 January 2023, supported by the West Australian Government through Tourism WA.

The Tri Nations Test Match Series will be shown live and free on KAYO Freebies.
