TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR 18&U BOYS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS & NEW ZEALAND TOUR

Published Tue 16 Apr 2024

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the teams selected for both the World Aquatics Men’s U18 Water Polo Championships 2024 and the New Zealand Tour that will take place later this year.

Set to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 2-9 July 2024, the World Championships will see 15 of the nation’s best young players represent Australia on the world stage.

The New Zealand Tour, taking place in June, will provide the chosen squad with a great opportunity to continue developing, with games set to take place against 21&U teams at the New Zealand Nationals as well as the 19&U New Zealand National squad.

Head Coach of the Australian 18&U Men Andras Jo-Kovacs is excited to see the talented squads compete overseas.

“The boys have been working hard not only at national training camps but at home in their own training environments, so we’re excited to see them travel and compete internationally,” said Jo-Kovacs.

“Selected across the two squads are the best emerging athletes in Australia, and the past 12 months have really allowed us to work on our strengths and strategies and address our weaknesses to give ourselves the best chance at success.

“Our goal is to develop athletes for the Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks squad and these experiences will be a great opportunity for the boys to continue developing on their journeys,” he finished.
