ATHLETE BIO

Maddy Steere was a strong water polo player from a young age at Essendon Water Polo Club. She progressed as a Victorian Institute of Sport athlete and began playing Australia's national water polo league in 2013 as a player in the Victorian Seals side, where she remained for four seasons.

In 2017 Steere joined the University of Michigan and in her two seasons with the side has gained recognition of her skills through selection in the 2018 All-American team. In her latest American college season she played 47 games, scoring 74 times and completing 47 steals.

Steere returned to the Australian Water Polo League for the 2019 season, where she played with the ACU Cronulla Sharks. In 2023, Steere formed part of the Griffith University Queensland Thunder team that won bronze in the Australian Waterpolo League.
