KOMMUNITYTV TO DELIVER MORE WATER POLO GAMES FOR FANS

Water Polo Australia has extended its partnership with News Corp Australia for an additional two years, to deliver more water polo games than ever before, via the new digital channel KommunityTV. 

The deal will see the Australian Waterpolo League (AWL), Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) as well as the National State Championships live streamed across the News Corp Australia’s digital metro & regional mastheads (including The Daily Telegraph, The Herald Sun, The Advertiser, The Mercury, The Courier Mail & The NT News). Across the four major events and AWL Series, more than 276 water polo matches will be streamed from September through to May. 

Water Polo Australia CEO Richard McInnes, said the sport is pleased to extend its partnership with News Corp Australia for the next two years. 

“We are thrilled to extend our national partnership with News Corp. Australia across our marquee events the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships and National State Championships as well as the Australian Waterpolo League.  

“In the first year of our partnership, we saw unparalleled coverage and streaming of water polo and we are thrilled to be part of the new KommunityTV that provided a national platform for all the sports News Corp partners with. 

“Not only will our Water Polo Australia members receive special subscription benefits that unlocks offers across all News Corp Australia’s digital metro & regional mastheads, but the partnership will allow us to continue to reach new sports fans and grow the profile of water polo in Australia,” he said.

News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said the deal with Water Polo Australia would deliver more content from the pool across the country.

"Water Polo Australia has been a proud partner of KommunityTV since its inception as a national live streaming brand," Mr Wilkins said.

"It is exciting to partner with WPA again for another season of action, and this year we are stepping it up a notch.

"Our partnership will showcase the top tier athletes in the Australian Water Polo League, but even more importantly we will get a chance to see the best emerging athletes through the national junior championships with an eye on the Paris Olympics in 2024.

"We look forward to kicking off a big summer season in the pool this weekend with the Under-15 and Under-17 Girls National Championships."
