Statement: Australian Youth Water Polo Championships

Published Sun 28 Mar 2021

Water Polo Australia is aware of the positive COVID-19 cases in the Brisbane area that has been reported by Queensland Health.  Water Polo Australia is monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates to all Clubs and competitors in relation to the Australian Waterpolo League & Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

At this stage, the Queensland Government have said they will have a clearer picture of the community impact in the next 48 hours, meaning that WPA will continue our preparations for the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

However Water Polo Australia will monitor closely the situation, with any changes to competition for AYWPC to be made by 2 April.

A decision relating to the Australian Waterpolo League will be made on Monday 29 March 2021.

WPA has COVID Safe event plans in place to reduce the risks of COVID-19 and deliver the event within the COVID recommendations by Queensland Health - with further updates to follow in relation to additional safety measures that will be put in place.

Water Polo Australia encourages all competitors travelling to the AYWPC to monitor their travel and health advice of their local authorities:
