Bridget Leeson-Smith followed her mum into the sport, Amanda Leeson-Smith who was part of the Aussie Stingers team that won gold at the first ever FINA World Championships for women in 1986.
Leeson-Smith's sporting hero is Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medalist Naomi McCarthy, who currently supports Leeson-Smith as the Sports Coordinator at Griffith University.
Leeson-Smith is one of eight Aussie Stingers that made their World Championships debut in Budapest.
