ATHLETE BIO

Sofie Pontre started playing water polo at the age of 11, combining her love of swimming and netball.

Growing up, Sofie looked up to Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medalist, and fellow WA player Danielle Woodhouse.

Sofie made her debut for the Aussie Stingers against the USA in the 2023 Tri Nations Test Match Series in her hometown. She is currently training as part of the squad as the countdown to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games continues.
