Tournament organisers have released the men's and women's water polo groups for the 18th FINA World Championships to be held in Gwangju, South Korea beginning on 14 July.

Fresh off their gold and silver medal winning performances at the FINA World League Inter-Continental Cup, the Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers will take confidence from their results into the FINA World League Super Finals (June) before arriving in South Korea for the major competition.

The Australian men (Aussie Sharks) have been placed in Group B with defending World Champions Croatia, as well as USA and Kazakhstan.

After the Aussie Sharks historic silver medal at the 2018 World Cup and on the back of their recent gold medal at the FINA World League Intercontinental Cup, the team will be looking for a strong performance at the World Championships as they too build towards Tokyo 2020.
