USA victory over KAP7 Aussie Sharks pushes series to a decider

USA men’s water polo team delivered a series equaliser in Brisbane tonight, stealing a one point win over the Aussie Sharks 10-9.
Despite an impressive second half performance by the Australian men’s water polo team, they weren’t able to sew up the series after allowing the USA to put three unanswered goals on the board by the end of the first period.
The Aussie Sharks were able to get four goals on the board in the second period and close the gap to two goals at half time, 4-6.
By the end of third period the scores were locked 8-8 putting the crowd on the edge of their seat heading into the final period.
While the Aussie Sharks managed another goal in the final, two more from the USA sealed the win to make it one a piece in the three test match series.
Australian Captain Aaron Younger, said while his pleased with his side’s efforts, they didn’t have a great start which cost them in the end.
“I think obviously the result is not the most important thing now, but the way we play definitely wasn’t as we wanted to be playing… to start like that to let them (USA) go four nil, you just can’t let that happen in water polo,” said Younger.
“But it was great the boys could bring it back to 8-8, but then again we just got to focus on that finishing and making sure at the end of the game we are the ones who are putting them away,” he said.
With $100 for every Australian goal scored going towards the Australian Red Cross bushfire appeal, the Australian Water Polo teams raised $1900 tonight.
